![]() And there are 17-year-olds who are being nostalgic, looking for that comfort, because everyone wants to be a child again. I think in this world we're grasping for nostalgia all the time. People think you're that forever, and I start to think to myself I wonder if that's because they look at you growing up and changing they have to acknowledge their own change within themselves, and that terrifies them. But it's funny 'cause we were talking night, it doesn't go away. Yeah, you know I was obviously on Victorious and that was like 10 years ago. I like playing somebody who is so committed to the idea of fate and love. And he goes through the thing that everyone goes through which is that stages of grief about being ghosted. ![]() Uly's such a puppy dog, he just wants to love so badly and he has this amazing connection with this person. I don't want to speak for him, but I think that he really casts a lot of good energies and everyone's so sweet and lovely and Tyler is no exception to that. I think his cast is always really integral to what gives him inspiration. Greg casts well and it's not just a visual thing, it's a spirit thing. So what was it like working together? And what was it like for him to ghost you?ĪV: Tyler's a sweetheart. You were on the beloved Victorious and he was on the really popular Teen Wolf, both shows with younger audiences. TV: When the show was first announced, a lot of fans were clamoring over the fact that you and Tyler Posey play love interests. Like, oh you present as a human being, but maybe you're a f*cking 12-foot reptile being. I feel like dating in the world of apps, everyone's presenting, but who are they really? And so, I think that's what that gets at a little bit. How did you interpret those images and themes?ĪV: For that first aspect, I think the dating world can feel like you're with somebody and maybe they have different motives. There’s literally an alien sex scene and the sky exploding in the first episode. ![]() TV: There’s so much absurdity in the show. And I think that it was fun to try and play a character who has this old school outlook on star-crossed lovers. ![]() He's obsessed with fate and destiny and he really believes in those fundamentally. Rather than adventuring with types of sex, he's venturing with partners trying to find someone he really connects with. What was it like portraying Ulysses’s struggles when it comes to his love life?ĪV: He likes adventuring, but he's trying to find love. TV: The show tackles a lot of themes about sexuality and dating that a lot of people in their 20s can identify with. ![]()
